EBP recruit volunteers from the business community to attend events held at local schools and share their skills and experience with young people.
The activities we offer aim to to inspire young people about the world of work and help them understand employers expectations. There are a variety of different ways to get involved including offering work experience, classroom talks, mock interview days, mentoring and speed networking with students.
We are currently recruiting for mentors to support Year 11 students (15 to 16 years) at a local school.
The young person and the mentor meet on a regular basis (generally once per week) to work towards agreed goals and discuss any issues or problems which may be holding them back from reaching their full potential.
The aim of the mentoring programme is to equip young people with the necessary skills to make informed and positive choices in their lives.
All mentors will be given training before being matched with a young person. All volunteers will be asked to complete an application form, an attend interview and undertake a DBS check.
