The John Pounds Centre champions a variety of community projects. FoodCycle Portsmouth uses surplus fresh food collected from local food stores, a team of volunteers prepare hot and nutritious meals each week for those most in need of a community meal.
This role involves being an active part of prep and cooking sessions to create fantastic three-course meal!
This is a great way to use your existing culinary genius for good, while developing new cooking skills, be part of a great team, meet new people and make friends.
The Kitchen team will work consciously to make the most of the ingredients, by ensuring there is not any excess food left at the end of the night.
FoodCycle meals are on Tuesday at John Pounds Centre 5-9pm, and Kings Church hall on Thursday 4-8pm. We have 2 and 4-hour volunteer slots for each evening.
