Community Connector Drop-in Lead


The Community Connector Drop-in Lead role is based with the Independence and Wellbeing Team -Portsmouth City Council. The role is leading on an information drop-in, which offers information to members of the public about groups and activities happening in the Portsmouth area. The role will include the setup of the Community Connectors drop-in at one of the venues across the city. The Drop-in is part of the wider Community Connector Service which works with adults - 18+ - who are experiencing loneliness/social isolation and want to get out in the community to engage more but lack the confidence to do so. Volunteers will be fully trained and supported in their role by a Community Connector member of staff.


• Good communication skills. • Be able to actively listen. • Have a positive 'can do' attitude • Be non-judgemental and respectful • Be able to maintain confidentiality • Taking a person centred approach in order to offer personalised support in accordance with the each person's needs and interests. • Keeping a simple log of the types of information which have been given.
